Creativity is a fundamental element in sparking an interest in learning for our youth. Melissa M. Williams uses Creative Writing Workshops as a means to inspire children to use their creative passions and funnel them into positive accomplishments. Each child has their own strength and weaknesses, but art--all forms of art--allow children to find perfection, confidence and purpose in their endeavors. Confidence is key to sustaining the right attitude to learn. The Creative Writing Workshops are designed to teach fundamental life lessons, using writing as the medium.
Workshop Synopsis:
- Learn psychological archetypes, or personality types, essential in proper story-telling
- Learn the fundamental stages of story acts--Intro, Act I, Act II, Act II, Close
- Discover methods for implementing conflict for the hero
- Discover methods for implementing life experiences in story-development and flow
- Learn how to transition the hero--or protagonist--from old self, to new self--story change
In discovering how to implement mythological, psychological and historical lessons in stories, children will discover means to help overcome their own life adversity. By learning to share their thoughts, share their experiences and discover ways for their story hero to accomplish a given task, they in turn, will discover strengths within themselves and avenues for accomplishing their own goals. The Creative Writing Workshops help teach our youth how to think for themselves, and collaborate with others (team building) and not only start a project, but complete it with confidence.

Testimonials:
"Thank you so much for everything!!! My son really enjoyed your camp. To see him get excited about reading-writing is great!!! Now drawing has always been a love of his! But, I think after this class----he has non-stop talked even about adding more characters to his story he wrote. He has really has struggled at reading over the years -- so to see him excited about writing thrills us all and brings tears to my eyes. Thank you!!!!!”
